Eating Bird Food has ten great date ball recipes. Her basic recipe uses nuts, but we always went with sunflower seeds and pepitas at Common Ground.
[Here’s the basic Common Ground recipe: 1 cup pitted dates, 1/2 cup seeds, 1/2 cup flaked coconut, and 1/2 cup dried cranberries. Process in a food processor until it holds together, then form into balls. They’ll keep for two weeks or more in the fridge. You can also freeze them.]
