Common Ground Kitchen serves fresh, flavorful plant-based lunches Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m at the Zion Center for Spiritual Development & Healing, 518 Ingle Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana.

Menu

We’ve expanded our menu! Now you have a choice of items available every day on a menu that changes with the seasons instead of daily. Still plant-based, still pay-what-you-can, still serving Monday through Thursday from 11:30 – 2:30 at the Zion Center in downtown Evansville. 

Coming for lunch? We accept cash and Paypal. If you go with Paypal, please consider a minimum of $7 per meal to cover processing fees. Thank you!

COMMONGROUND ONION

ROASTED VEGETABLE PLATE

Roasted potatoes and the season’s best vegetables, served with our house-made chimichurri sauce and white bean salad. (v, gf, nf)

BROWN RICE BOWL

Seasonal pan-seared vegetables and chickpeas on a bed of brown basmati rice, topped with our tahini-based goddess dressing. (v, gf, nf)

THAI VEGETABLE BOWL

A mix of pan-seared and raw seasonal vegetables on brown basmati rice, topped with house-made Thai peanut sauce. (v, gf, contains peanuts)

 LENTIL WALNUT STEAKBURGER

Our favorite veggie burger, served on a bed of greens with roasted potatoes and remoulade sauce. (v, gf, contains walnuts)

SOUP & SALAD

A bowl of our house-made Soup of the Week and a fresh mixed green salad with Dijon vinaigrette or goddess dressing. (v, gf, nf)

All meals include fresh fruit or a house-made truffle.

Soup To Go

Each week we offer a refrigerated, ready-to-heat soup for purchase by the pint or quart. Orders are taken through Friday of the week preceding, and soups are available for pickup the following Tuesday.

Quarts are $10, pints are $6, and come to you in a classic Ball jar that you can keep or return. Always vegan & gluten-free. Here’s what we’re cooking up for May:

May 1: Vegetable Chowder. A chunky New England-style chowder full of colorful veggies, chickpeas and creamy potatoes.

May 8: Golden Lentil Soup. Our take on a Whole Foods classic, nicely spiced and dotted with bits of spinach and tomatoes.

May 15: West African Peanut Soup. A Moosewood Restaurant recipe that’s great on its own or served over rice or vegetables. A creamy, spicy soup that surprises and delights.

May 22: Classic Vegan Chili. Order a quart to serve with a bowl of chips or folded into tacos for your Memorial Day* gatherings.

*We won’t have a refrigerated soup-to-go for the week following Memorial Day (which is Monday, May 28).
