Common Ground Kitchen serves fresh, flavorful plant-based lunches Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m at the Zion Center for Spiritual Development & Healing, 518 Ingle Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana.

Dine in or carry out. Pay what you can. We accept cash, cards, and Paypal.

Menu

All meals are plant-based and vegan-friendly. Most are naturally gluten-free, and when they’re not, we typically have a gluten-free option available, so please ask. 

We sometimes serve items that contain peanuts or tree nuts. If you are nut-sensitive, please let us know. 

Pay what you can. A minimum of $7 per meal helps to keep the lights on.

Soup To Go

Each week we offer a refrigerated, ready-to-heat soup for purchase by the pint or quart. Orders are taken through Friday of the week preceding, and soups are available for pickup the following Tuesday.

Quarts are $10, pints are $6, and come to you in a classic canning jar that you can keep or return. Always vegan & gluten-free.

FEBRUARY SOUP

Feb. 5: Creamy Cashew Curry (order by February 1): This luscious soup is perfect for the last weeks of winter, mildly spiced and rich with bits of vegetables and green chilies in a blended broth.

Feb. 12: Big Pot Vegetable Soup (order by February 8): Hearty and chock full of all the vegetables and all the flavor. This soup is a meal in a bowl.

Feb. 19: Spanish Chickpea (order by February 15): Chickpeas and greens in a smoky, garlic-infused tomato-based broth, one of those bigger-than-the-sum-of-its-parts soups.

Feb. 26: West African Peanut Soup (order by February 22): We’re slipping this soup in one last time before warm weather comes. Spicy and full of sweet-potato goodness, blended into a creamy smooth bowl of wonder. A favorite here at the Kitchen.

Join us as guest chef Roger Winstead of Beautiful Edibles specialty vegetable farm in Paradise, Indiana, shares his wok expertise in the Common Ground Kitchen. We’ll learn how to create beautiful one-pot meals that can change with the seasons, with tips on on how to achieve those perfectly-cooked vegetables, what proteins to add, which seasonings and sauces work best, and how to develop complex flavors with plant-based ingredients.

We’ll prepare dishes suitable for a holiday potluck table, a contribution to a big family meal, or a tasty start-to-finish dinner of your own. You’ll get to sample everything we make, ask all the questions, and download all the recipes.
