Common Ground Kitchen serves fresh, flavorful plant-based meals Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m at the Zion Center for Spiritual Development & Healing, 518 Ingle Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana.

The cafe is open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 – 2 p.m. We serve one meal option each day, always freshly-prepared, plant-based and vegan-friendly. Dine in or carry out. You can scroll to see this week’s menu.

Reserving is not required — we’re happy to see you whether or not you called ahead — but here’s why reserving before we open is a good idea.

Pay what you can. A minimum of $7 per meal helps keep the lights on.

Soup To Go

Each week we offer a refrigerated, ready-to-heat soup for purchase by the pint or quart. Our soups are always plant-based, vegan friendly, & gluten-free.

Orders are taken through Friday of the week preceding, and soups are available for pickup the following Tuesday.

Quarts are $10, pints are $6, and come to you in a classic canning jar that you can keep or return.

July 2: Gazpacho! With the July 4th holiday just ahead, we’re making this classic summer soup available for your backyard or potluck holiday enjoyment. Since it’ll be a short week that week at the Kitchen, make sure you can pick up Tuesday or Wednesday when you place your order. Order by 6/28.

July 9: Moosewood Gypsy Soup: Chunky and full of brightly flavored veggies in a turmeric-and-paprika-spiked tomato broth. Order by 7/5

July 16: Egyptian Lentil w/Lemon & Potatoes: The lemon and potatoes give this lentil soup a summertime feel. Too chunky to call it creamy, too creamy to call it chunky, it’s just all the way good. Order by 7/12

July 23: Tom Kha Gai: Our plant-based take on this Thai classic, with mushrooms, summer greens & red bells with a bit of heat in a brothy coconut base. Order by 7/19

July 30: Roasted Summer Squash: Light and creamy with lots of delicate flavors, this soup makes a perfect summer meal. Add a salad and something from the grill and you’ve got a dinner party. Order by 7/26
